Summary of research findings
We have listed research papers with both positive and negative findings.
- In epidemiological studies of Radio + TV transmitters increased leukemia and lymphoma rates come up (7 out of 9 papers). The FM (frequency modulation) radio, AM (amplitude modulation) radio and analog television technologies used to be continuos wave (non-pulsed). Currently, the digital television signal is pulsed and perhaps more biologically active¹. However, there is very little research on these newer technologies.
- Mobile phone base stations are a newer phenomenon and the symptoms and illnesses seem to be more versatile ranging from adverse neurobehavioral symptoms to breast cancer ( 9 out of 11 epidemiological studies indicated increased risk). It is difficult to compare these papers with each other, because not every paper has radiation power density measurements included.
- Occupational epidemiological studies indicate increased cardiovascular problems and reduced fertility.
After all these findings, the WHO officially announces:
"Considering the very low exposure levels and research results collected to date, there is no convincing scientific evidence that the weak RF signals from base stations and wireless networks cause adverse health effects." ¹
This is a very inaccurate and biased conclusion, to our mind. Please, look at the research papers by clicking the tabs and make your own decision.
