A mass die off of birds and fish in Arkansas which prompted a response by U.S. Environmental Services has residents asking questions about the cause – could secret government testing be responsible for the carnage? ... "Electromagnetic scalar weapons that can artificially manipulate the environment could be responsible for the mass die offs. We know for a fact that over a decade ago the U.S. Military Industrial Complex was aware of and involved in the testing of such technology. ."

Coast News Group (2010). Local doctor shares his views on dangers from electromagnetic field radiation

"There is 10 million times the background radiation in San Diego compared to 1970," he said. "It is caused by technology such as cell towers and high-powered transformer lines; military telecommunications; Doppler radar and sonograms shot into earthquake faults. It is also generated by wi-fi communications for computers and games, SDG&E smart meters and transformers on poles and on the ground of local neighborhoods (camouflaged) as green boxes."

East Bay Express (2010). Are SmartMeters Dangerous, Too?

"Independent environmental and electromagnetic-fields consultants, for example, have found that SmartMeters pulse far more often that PG&E claims. In addition, there's evidence to suggest that the peak pulses are far greater in intensity than the "average pulse" PG&E owns up to, thereby raising questions about safety, particularly in children, whose bodies absorb radiation at a far greater rate than adults. In dense urban areas, residents also have raised concerns about banks, or clusters of upwards of thirty meters on some apartment buildings."

Digital Journal (2010). Report: Laptop, Wi-Fi radiation may affect male fertility

"The investigator concludes that their study shows that exposure of sperm to the radiation from the device did not kill the sperm cells, but affected their motility. Further, by evaluating the sperm cells DNA integrity, they found that there was a significant difference between both sub-samples: "The fraction exposed to radiation had a significant increase in sperm cells with fragmented (broken) DNA," said Avendaño. "

CNN (2010). Study links bee decline to cell phones

"In a study at Panjab University in Chandigarh, northern India, researchers fitted cell phones to a hive and powered them up for two fifteen-minute periods each day. CCD. Toronto Sun (2010). Group wants microwave regulation tightened

"to lobby the government to reduce the allowable microwave exposure limit from 1,000 microwatts per square centimetre to 1,000 microwatts per square metre, limits they say are in place in some European jurisdictions."

"Why should Canada be last to protect its citizens?" asked Francois Therrien, a spokesman for the group. "Across the country Canadians are being exposed to constant microwave radiation while a great many international experts say this is dangerous."

Times of Malta (2010). Microwave expert raises alarm over mobile phone antennae

"Although there was a gap in the research on children, Mr Trower said it was known that they were more vulnerable to microwaves by virtue of their size: "Being the size of their wavelength, they can act like aerials, vibrating inside and undergoing some sort of stress." Having less dense bones, the microwaves penetrated them easier and they did not have a fully developed immune system to fend them off, he said."

O'Connor, E. (2009). Radiation Research Trust comments on draft Australian standard, 10 commitments

  • 1) Has the Australian Government or any other Government taken people
  • who suffer with electrosensitivity (ES) into consideration?
  • 2) Has any account been given to the unique susceptibility of growing children to RF/MW?
  • 3) What do you do if you have a phone mast next to your home or suffer as a result of exposure to mobile phones, Wifi, WIMAX or DECT phones?
  • 4) Should our children and the world's workforce be forced to go to school and work surrounded in a sea of untested and unregulated radiation?
  • 5) Have we given our Government and the Industry permission to include us in this experiment?
  • 6) Hasn't the Government got a duty of care to alert the public to the non-thermal biological effects?
  • 7) What are the long term consequences?
  • 8) Is financial gain more important than health?
  • 9) Do we really want to leave a legacy of enormous proportions with regards to health and the economic consequences for our children?
  • 10) Is it ethical?

DNA India (2009). Alarm bells for sparrow.

"Electromagnetic radiation emitted by towers disturbs house sparrows and other small birds," said Dr Sainudeen Pattazhy, president, Kerala Environmental Researchers' Association (Kera). "The radiation is of very low frequency -- 900 to 1,800 MHz -- and can damage the thin skull of chicks and the shells of eggs. Microwaves can interfere with the birds' sensory abilities and misguide them while they are navigating and preying."

Comment: The problem may not be the high frequencies, more like base stations pulsing occasionally at 8,34 Hz (GPRS) ?! Please, check my Nature-section below and Ulrich Warnke's document.

European Parliament (2009). Avoiding potential risks of electromagnetic fields.

"Antennas, mobile phone masts and other electromagnetic emitting devices should be set within a specific distance from schools and health institutions, according to a report adopted by the European Parliament. The Commission should make more reliable information available about the effects of exposure to electromagnetic fields to citizens who feel that they are not well informed. The report was adopted with 559 votes in favour, 22 against and 8 abstentions."

ScienceNews (2009). Nanotube and tunnel crowd. Gerdes & Carvalho.

"A variety of goods appear to traverse the tunneling nanotubes between cells. The tiny conduits may carry signals that instruct nearby cells where and how to grow. Calcium ions and immune system markers alert neighboring cells to threats. Invading viruses, prions and bacteria may spread directly from cell to cell through the nanotubes, raising the infection rate in the body."

Comment: Calcium ions are affected by minimal electric or magnetic fields. So, does this information explain the discomfort feeling of EHS sufferers close to strong EMF-sources (like base stations and powerlines)? Does it help to explain EHS-symptoms when cell membranes are damaged?

EU Parliament (2009). Initiative: Health concerns associated with electromagnetic fields

Radiation Research Trust (2009). Judgement Versailles Court of Appeal 4 February 2009 : ANALYSIS

PC World (2008). Complaint Filed Over Health Effects of French Mobile Antenna.

"The complaint filed Wednesday blames radio signals from an antenna erected by Bouygues Telecom in 2000 for the health problems, including tachycardia and cardiac arrhythmia, of one of two 17-year-old twins living in Chevreuse, southwest of Paris, according to the family's lawyer, Richard Forget. Forget believes it's the first complaint to equate mobile phone signals to a harmful substance, and also the first that could result in criminal charges against a mobile phone network operator."

Aftenposten (2008). Ensom kamp mot strålene. Electrosensitive children try to cope with radiation.

Comment: A highly electrically hypersensitive child in Norway. The family had had a DECT-phone/base station and also the school had had Wi-Fi before the illness showed up. The symptoms disappear, when the child is in an environment where there are no base stations at all.

BfS (2008). Bluetooth and WLAN.

Comment: German Radiation Protection Bureau and its comments about Bluetooth and Wi-Fi:
"Preferably use wired connection instead of wireless."
"Keep distance to the Wi-Fi router."

Walker / Radiation Research Trust (2007). Dr John Walker and cancer clusters close to base stations. Review of some current knowledge of the effect on people's health of telephone base station mast radiation - the path towards a safer level.

Video: mms://

Comment: According to Dr Walker the cancer cluster is possible, if the apartment is in a cross-section of several (powerful) base stations and their main beams. Interesting measurements about melatonin levels. A really slow pace in the video, please, be patient while watching.

Blanz, A., Kern, M. & Scheiner, H. (2007). Mobilfunk in Kempten West - Blutwerte besorgnisregend verändert.

"The initial blood samples were taken in November 2006 before the transmitter commenced operation (Dec. 2006). The second set of blood samples were taken in May 2007, 5 months after the transmitter commenced normal operation. --- Especially alarming is the fact, that 84 % of participants, almost the whole group, reacted with a massive decrease in the serotonin level (average 46%) following increased exposure from the operation of the newly erected telecommunications mast. Alarming is also the fairly steep nightly melatonin decrease in the presence of increasing telecommunication signal exposure, which is nearly half of the normal level for more than half of the group (56%)."

Comment: Living close to the base station in a certain sector had an effect on serotonin and melatonin levels. Therefore the authors suggest an effect on the immunity and protection mechanisms of the human body.

Daily Mail (2007). Orange to remove mobile mast from 'tower of doom', where cancer rate has soared.

"The cancer rate on the top floor - where residents of five of the eight flats have been affected and the three who died all lived - is 20 per cent, ten times the national average. Residents of Berkeley House in Staple Hill, Bristol, also complain of terrible headaches and other ailments which they blame on radiation from the masts." (2007).

Davidson (2004). Residential survey of TETRA mast

"We have a climate where everyone says that more research is needed in order to be sure of safety, whilst the industry and NRPB defend its "probable safety", however many pulsed microwave sources are present, at whatever distance from each other, with whatever frequency mix, whatever surrounding topographical and structural influences, and placing people under chronic exposure for a long period of time."

Comment: Interesting discussion about TETRA:

The Lancet (2002) Spain investigates four cancer cases diagnosed in children in one school

"The emergence of haematological malignancies in four children at a school in the Spanish city of Valladolid during a 12-month period forced the regional government of Castilla y León to close the school on Jan 2 so that experts could try to identify the cause of the cluster of cases. On Dec 21, before the fourth case was identified, a judge ordered the owners of 36 nearby telephone aerials to switch them off, after repeated complaints by parents. The aerials were on the roof of a building, which was 46 metres from the school."

IARC (2001). International Agency for Research on Cancer IARC finds limited evidence that residential magnetic fields increase risk of childhood leukemia:

Comment: Some things missing: the electric field + the direction of magnetic field + dirty electricity (transients and harmonic overwaves) are not addressed in studies. Most of the studies only address the low-level magnetic field.

Fortune (2000). Ross Adey: "Wherever we go, we will be immersed in a sea of low-level, pulsed microwave signals."

"A nonthermal interaction implies that there is some form of resonant response to the signal by the tissue. We see all sorts of enzyme responses and changes in gene expression if there is a modulation or low-frequency interruption of the electromagnetic signal, whether it be at power-line frequencies or as a modulation of a microwave pulse being turned on and off at a low rate in what might be called a biological spectrum, below 100 hertz."
